First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests a therapy called oscillation and lung expansion (OLE) for patients on breathing machines who have collapsed lung areas (atelectasis). OLE combines gentle air pressure, vibrations, and medication to clear mucus and reopen lungs. Researchers will compare OLE to standard chest vibration therapy in 60 adults to see which works better using CT scans and electrical imaging.
