New hope for hard-to-treat breast cancer: drug targets hidden genetic switch
NCT ID NCT05522491
First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests the drug olaparib in 30 women with advanced triple-negative breast cancer that has come back or spread. Unlike other studies, these patients do not have the usual BRCA gene mutations but have a different change (BRCA1 promoter methylation) that may make the cancer sensitive to olaparib. The goal is to see if the drug can shrink tumors and delay cancer growth.
