New app aims to help smokers kick the habit for good

Summary

This study tested a smartphone app called OKquit to help smokers quit. Over 500 adults who called the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline were given either standard care or standard care plus the app. The app provided on-demand tips and tailored messages. Researchers checked if the app helped more people stay smoke-free after 27 weeks.
