NCT ID NCT04610645

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special imaging technique called OCT can detect skin damage from radiation therapy before it becomes visible to the naked eye. Researchers followed 30 head and neck cancer patients undergoing radiation, taking OCT images of their skin over time. The goal was to see if OCT could catch early warning signs of skin injury and predict later side effects.
