First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested a daily pill called obeticholic acid (OCA) in 15 people with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), a genetic condition that causes hundreds of polyps in the intestines and raises cancer risk. The goal was to see if OCA could safely shrink the number of polyps in the small bowel and colon. The trial was stopped early, so results are limited.
