First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looks at whether weight-loss surgery (gastric bypass) is safer and more effective than standard treatments like diet and exercise for teens aged 13 to 18 with severe obesity. About 120 participants will be followed for up to 10 years to measure weight loss, quality of life, and mental health. The goal is to find the best long-term approach to manage this serious condition.
