First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether weight-loss surgery (gastric bypass) is safer and more effective than standard treatments for teenagers aged 13 to 18 with severe obesity. About 120 teens will be followed for up to 10 years to measure weight loss, quality of life, and mental health. The goal is to see if surgery offers lasting health benefits with fewer complications.
