Talking it out: new study tests if kind communication eases parent stress

NCT ID NCT06943105

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 6-week group training in nonviolent communication (NVC) can improve mental well-being and reduce stress, anxiety, and depression in parents of primary-school-age children. About 172 parents with mild to severe symptoms will be randomly assigned to take the training right away or after a wait period. The goal is to see if learning these communication skills helps parents feel better and handle parenting challenges more calmly.
