Restaurant menu labels put to the test: do they really guide healthier choices?

NCT ID NCT06923241

First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding Nutri-score labels (a simple A to E rating) to restaurant menus helps people pick healthier meals compared to showing only calories. Over 600 adults who eat out at least once a month took part in a real restaurant setting. Researchers measured how effective the labels were perceived and the nutritional quality of the food ordered.
