Two-Day training program aims to stop painful bed sores in vulnerable stroke survivors
NCT ID NCT06981962
Summary
This study tested whether a short, nurse-led education program could prevent pressure ulcers (bed sores) in stroke patients who cannot move easily. 128 high-risk patients and their family caregivers received a two-day training in the hospital on proper skin care, positioning, and how to reduce pressure on the skin. The goal was to see if this hands-on teaching, supported by a take-home booklet, lowered the rate of new bed sores compared to standard care.
