Can nurses help patients take control of their arthritis?

NCT ID NCT02374749

Summary

This study tested whether two nurse-led programs could help people with chronic inflammatory back arthritis (axial spondyloarthritis) better manage their condition. Over 500 participants were randomly assigned to either a program focused on checking for other health problems (comorbidities) or a program teaching self-assessment and self-management skills. The main goal was to see if these programs improved how patients coped with their disease and managed their overall health after one year.
