Simple nurse checklist could predict brain bleeds after stroke therapy
NCT ID NCT07304973
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a 12-item checklist used by nurses to predict neurological complications like bleeding or re-blockage after endovascular therapy for stroke or aneurysms. Researchers compared 213 patients who were checked with the list to 213 who received standard care. The goal was to see if the checklist could flag high-risk patients faster and improve outcomes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- predictive checklist
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this checklist could help nurses quickly spot patients at risk of brain complications after stroke treatment, potentially reducing severe outcomes and hospital stays.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. The checklist may not work in all hospitals or for all patients, and it does not replace standard medical care.
