Nurses' quick checklist could save lives after stroke surgery
NCT ID NCT07304973
Summary
This study tested a simple 12-item checklist for nurses to use after patients receive a procedure to treat stroke or brain aneurysms. The goal was to see if the checklist could help nurses spot early warning signs of serious complications, like bleeding or re-blockage, faster than usual monitoring. Researchers compared 426 patients, with half being monitored using the new checklist and half receiving standard care, to see if the checklist led to quicker doctor action and better patient outcomes.
