New study aims to cut opioid use after kidney cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT05842044

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can effectively control pain after robotic kidney surgery for cancer, reducing the need for stronger opioid painkillers. About 110 adults undergoing this surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either NSAIDs or standard care. The goal is to see if NSAIDs can provide good pain relief with fewer side effects.
