New hip fracture plate could speed healing

Summary
This study tests a new type of metal plate for fixing fresh hip fractures (broken femoral neck). The goal is to see if it helps the bone heal better and with fewer problems than current methods. About 1150 adults who need surgery for this fracture will take part. The main focus is on how much the bone shortens during healing, measured by X-rays and CT scans.
