First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a new type of metal plate designed to fix fresh fractures of the femoral neck (the part of the hip bone just below the ball joint). The goal is to see if this plate helps the bone heal better and with fewer problems than current methods. About 1150 adults who need surgery for this fracture will take part. The main focus is on how much the bone shortens during healing, measured by X-rays and CT scans over 12 months.
