Home blood tests for cancer patients: a new frontier in monitoring?

NCT ID NCT04960059

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at whether people with advanced cancers (melanoma, kidney, or lung cancer) receiving their first immunotherapy treatment could successfully collect small blood samples at home using a finger-prick method. The goal was to see if this approach is practical and reliable for future studies. Twenty-four patients took part, and the results will help design better ways to monitor treatment effects without requiring frequent hospital visits.
