First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether notifying both patients and their doctors about calcium found in the heart arteries (on a chest CT scan) helps more people start cholesterol-lowering therapy. The study included 233 adults with known heart or blood vessel disease who were not already taking such medication. The goal was to see if this simple notification could improve treatment rates.
