First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a specific type of sound therapy, called notched noise therapy, can help reduce the ringing in the ears (tinnitus) that many Veterans experience. About 108 Veterans with constant tinnitus will use special ear-level devices that play sounds designed to calm the brain's tinnitus-related activity. The study will measure changes in tinnitus severity and loudness over 12 weeks.
