NCT ID NCT00119912
First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This large study is testing whether screening with a flexible tube (sigmoidoscopy) can lower the number of colorectal cancer cases and deaths. About 100,000 men and women aged 50-64 in Norway are taking part. The researchers also want to see if adding a stool blood test helps, and how screening affects overall colonoscopy use in the community.
