Painless ultrasound could replace invasive bladder tests

NCT ID NCT05652023

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a new ultrasound technique called Quantitative Ultrasound Bladder Vibrometry to check for abnormal bladder function without using catheters or needles. Researchers at Mayo Clinic will compare the new method to standard tests in adults with overactive bladder or enlarged prostate. If accurate, this could make diagnosis easier and more comfortable for patients.
