Blood test may replace surgery for endometriosis diagnosis
NCT ID NCT07586488
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether measuring two tiny molecules in the blood (microRNA-125b-5p and microRNA-141-3p) can accurately diagnose early-stage endometriosis. Sixty women with symptoms like pelvic pain or infertility provided blood samples and underwent standard laparoscopic surgery for comparison. The goal is to find a non-invasive, safer way to detect endometriosis early, avoiding unnecessary surgery.
