NCT ID NCT04727047

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tested whether using mild electrical pulses (NMES) on the leg muscles could help people recover better after surgery for a torn Achilles tendon. The goal was to reduce muscle wasting and improve tendon healing. Only 8 people took part before the study was stopped early, so the results are very limited.
