Boosting transplants with natural killers: new combo aims to stop blood cancer return
NCT ID NCT05115630
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This phase 2 trial tested whether adding ready-made donor natural killer (NK) cells to a standard stem cell transplant could safely reduce the chance of cancer coming back in people with high-risk myeloid cancers like AML, MDS, and CML. Twenty-four patients received the combination. The main goal was to see if the transplant was successful and to check for side effects. While the approach may help control the disease, patients typically need ongoing monitoring and sometimes long-term medication, so it is not a cure.
