New study aims to tailor ovarian cancer treatment for black women

NCT ID NCT06412120

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at how well women of African ancestry with ovarian cancer tolerate a maintenance drug called niraparib after initial treatment. Niraparib works by blocking cancer cells from repairing their DNA, which can slow or stop tumor growth. Researchers will also study how genetic and environmental factors affect the drug's safety and side effects. About 70 participants will be enrolled to help improve treatment for this group.
