New drug aims to prevent deadly bleeding in unborn babies

Summary

This study tests a new medicine called nipocalimab against a standard treatment (IVIG) in pregnant women whose babies are at risk for a rare condition that causes low platelets and severe bleeding. The goal is to see if nipocalimab can better prevent death or serious bleeding in the baby. About 50 pregnant women with a history of this condition will take part.
