First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether the drug nintedanib can slow the loss of lung function in people who have had a lung transplant and developed a condition called bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS). 58 adults who were at least 6 months post-transplant and had early to moderate BOS took either nintedanib or a placebo for 6 months. The main goal was to see if the drug reduced the rate of decline in their lung function.
