First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at how strongly a person is addicted to nicotine and how that affects their breathing muscles, physical fitness, thinking skills, pain, sleep, and overall quality of life. Researchers will measure these factors in 212 adults who have smoked regularly for at least 6 months and are otherwise healthy. No treatments or medications are given—the goal is simply to better understand the wide-ranging effects of nicotine dependence.
