Could a vitamin B3 pill help kids with colitis?

NCT ID NCT05561738

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily supplement called nicotinamide riboside (a form of vitamin B3) can help children with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. About 40 kids will take either the supplement or a placebo for 6 to 12 months, alongside their usual treatment. The main goal is to see if such a study is practical, but researchers will also look at changes in gut cells and inflammation.
