Could a simple slit in a tiny tube bring faster relief for watery eyes?
NCT ID NCT03705000
Summary
This study tested a new design for a small tube (stent) placed after surgery for a blocked tear duct. The goal was to see if adding slits to the stent would allow tears to drain through it immediately, providing faster symptom relief for watery eyes. A small group of patients scheduled for the standard surgery were randomly assigned to receive either the new slit stent or the standard one, and their symptoms and quality of life were compared.
