Could a simple slit in a tiny tube stop annoying watery eyes?

NCT ID NCT03705000

Summary

This study tested a new design for a small tube (stent) placed after surgery for a blocked tear duct. The goal was to see if adding slits to the tube would allow tears to drain through it immediately, providing faster relief from constant watery eyes. A very small group of patients scheduled for the surgery were randomly assigned to receive either the new slitted stent or the standard version to compare safety and symptom relief.
