New biological mesh aims to offer safer fix for pelvic prolapse
NCT ID NCT06430931
Summary
This study is testing a new biological surgical mesh called OviTex against the current standard synthetic mesh for repairing pelvic organ prolapse. The goal is to see if the new mesh, made mostly from sheep tissue, is as effective and possibly safer, with fewer complications like pain or mesh exposure. The trial will involve 184 patients who need surgery for conditions like rectal, bladder, or uterine prolapse.
