Summary
This study is testing a new sedative drug called fospropofol disodium for use during painless gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Researchers want to see if it works as well as the standard drug (propofol) while causing fewer side effects like breathing problems, low blood pressure, or pain at the injection site. The trial will involve 426 participants aged 50-65 who are having these procedures, and they will be randomly assigned to receive either the new drug or the standard one.
