Summary
This study is testing a new sedative drug called fospropofol disodium for use during painless endoscopy procedures like colonoscopies. Researchers want to see if it works as well as the current standard drug (propofol) but with fewer side effects like breathing problems, low blood pressure, or pain at the injection site. The trial will involve 426 patients aged 50-65 and compare the two drugs to see which one leads to more stable sedation and a safer, more comfortable recovery.
