Radiation breakthrough aims to save lives by protecting lungs during cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT04281199
Summary
This study is testing new radiation techniques to better protect patients' lungs during stem cell transplants for leukemia and related blood cancers. Researchers want to see if using more precise radiation methods can reduce lung damage while still effectively treating the cancer. The trial involves 20 patients who will receive this new approach before their transplant, with follow-up for one year to check for side effects and cancer recurrence.
