Breakthrough blood test could speed diagnosis of mysterious bleeding disorders
NCT ID NCT01957345
Summary
This study tested a new laboratory method to help diagnose rare platelet function disorders that cause bleeding problems. Researchers evaluated whether a flow cytometry test using a small blood sample could identify signaling defects in platelets more efficiently than current methods. The study involved 322 patients with various bleeding disorders across four French hospitals to standardize the test and establish reference values.
