New nets could slash malaria in kids – major trial underway

NCT ID NCT05796193

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests two new types of mosquito nets to see if they prevent malaria better than standard nets. About 1,650 children and adults in central Côte d'Ivoire will use these nets, and researchers will track malaria cases and infections over up to three years. The goal is to find better tools to control malaria in areas where mosquitoes are becoming resistant to current insecticides.
