New blood test could catch hidden virus in transplant patients sooner
NCT ID NCT07210242
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at a new blood test that may find a common virus (HCMV) earlier in people who have had a stem cell transplant. About 300 patients will give blood samples before and after their transplant. The new test looks for a different marker (miRNA) instead of the usual DNA, hoping to catch the virus sooner and help doctors treat it faster.
