New lung cancer cocktail shows promise in early trial

Summary
This study tests a new combination of chemotherapy drugs (paclitaxel and carboplatin) plus an immunotherapy drug (durvalumab) as a first treatment for people with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. The goal is to see if this mix works better than the standard treatment. About 67 adults with this aggressive lung cancer will take part.
