Scientists test antibiotic designed to spare kidneys

Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new formulation of an important antibiotic called polymyxin B. The goal is to see if this new version, called VRP-034, is less damaging to the kidneys than the standard version, while still being effective. The study will involve 48 healthy adult male volunteers who will receive either the new or standard formulation to compare safety and how the drug behaves in the body.
