New scan could spot dangerous clots without needles or surgery

Summary

This early-phase study is testing a new radioactive tracer called 64Cu-FBP8 that lights up blood clots on PET-MR scans. Researchers want to see if it can safely and accurately find clots anywhere in the body, including in the heart of people with atrial fibrillation. The study involves 165 healthy volunteers and patients with known or suspected clots.
