New imaging could spot hidden uterine damage after cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT06518174

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new imaging technique (shear-wave elastography combined with MRI) can detect scarring or injury in the uterus caused by pelvic radiation. Researchers will enroll 22 women who received pelvic radiation before age 40 and compare their imaging results to healthy controls. The goal is to find a better way to diagnose radiation-induced uterine injury, which may help future patients understand their fertility and uterine health.
