New camera may predict skin treatment success

NCT ID NCT05923060

First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tested a new video device that takes images of skin lesions during a light-based treatment for actinic keratoses (precancerous spots). The goal was to see if the device could predict how well the treatment works by measuring certain chemicals in the skin. Fourteen adults with at least 10 lesions on their arms or legs took part. The device was used to monitor the treatment, but the study was small and focused on learning, not on curing or controlling the disease.
