Surgeons test Patient's own tissue as 'Living Patch' for tough hernias

Summary
This study is testing a new surgical technique called PoRSHA for repairing large or recurring paraesophageal hernias. Surgeons will use a flap of the patient's own abdominal wall tissue to reinforce the repair, hoping it is stronger and safer than using synthetic mesh. The goal is to see if this method reduces the chance of the hernia coming back and improves patient symptoms.
