Surgeons test Patient's own tissue as 'Living Patch' for tough hernias

NCT ID NCT06551077

Summary

This study is testing a new surgical technique called PoRSHA for repairing large or recurring paraesophageal hernias. The technique uses a flap of the patient's own abdominal wall tissue to reinforce the repair, aiming to make it stronger and more durable than standard methods. Researchers will follow 100 patients to see if this approach reduces the chance of the hernia coming back and improves symptoms.
