New hope for stem cell transplant patients: combo therapy targets GVHD

NCT ID NCT07340723

First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding the drug ruxolitinib to standard steroids works better than steroids alone for treating grade II acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a common complication after stem cell transplants. About 168 adults who have had a stem cell transplant for blood cancer and develop GVHD within 100 days will take part. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to a higher rate of complete or partial response by day 28.
