New combo therapy aims to tame throat cancer with fewer side effects

NCT ID NCT07578467

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new drug (ATRN-119) combined with a single, precise dose of radiation can safely treat early-stage HPV-positive throat cancer. About 35 adults will take the drug for 10 days and receive one radiation treatment, then have standard surgery. Researchers hope this approach reduces long-term side effects while keeping cure rates high.
