New cocktail of drugs shows promise in First-Line battle against aggressive breast cancer
NCT ID NCT07581795
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This Phase 2 trial tests a new combination of drugs—paclitaxel polymer micelles, trastuzumab, pertuzumab, and adebelimab—as a first treatment for advanced HER2-positive breast cancer. About 140 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either this new combo or the standard taxane-based regimen. The goal is to see if the new mix shrinks tumors better and delays cancer growth, while monitoring for side effects.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Paclitaxel polymer micelles, trastuzumab, pertuzumab, and adebelimab
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more effective first-line treatment option for advanced HER2-positive breast cancer, potentially improving tumor shrinkage and delaying disease progression.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 140 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The new drug combination may cause side effects like infusion reactions or nerve damage, and it might not work better than the standard treatment.
