New staging system could better predict colon cancer outcomes
NCT ID NCT07380464
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at 1500 people with colon cancer to see if a new way of staging the disease—based on where cancer is found in lymph nodes and the number of tumor deposits—could better predict survival than the current system. Researchers collected medical records and followed patients over time. The goal was to improve how doctors estimate prognosis, not to test a new treatment.
