First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests if replacing an infected heart device right away is as safe and effective as waiting for a later procedure. About 176 adults with heart device infections will be randomly assigned to immediate or delayed reimplantation. The goal is to see if immediate replacement reduces serious complications like death, blood clots, or repeat infections within 6 months.
